It's sunny outside! There's still a nip in the air, but spring is just around the corner. Time to start knitting fun spring things. I'll be making up my spring class schedule soon and would welcome suggestions for spring projects. Also, if you have any ideas for fun things for us to do, I'd love to hear them.
The new restaurant across the street, Olivia's Chop House is officially opening tonight. Be sure to come try it out. It will be good to have the restaurant open again. Congratulations Wayne!
Ok, so we all got our hopes up with that little taste of spring last week. Alas, it was not to be. It is, afterall, still the middle of February! Still prime knitting weather!
We've had several people taking beginning knitting classes and working their way up to more advanced knitting this winter. That's always good to see. More people need to be introduced to how fun and rewarding knitting and crocheting can be.
The Wrap-me-up shawl knit-along is going well. I think most of us were somewhere in the neighborhood of block 5 or 6 on Wednesday. I am now working on the one with the beads (block 7 I think). It is fun to see it develop as you go.
Hopefully, you will all have power again soon. Ours was off for a few hours Sunday night but then came back on. I guess that was only temporary as it is now off once again. We do have power at the store though so come on in and have a hot cup of coffee and keep warm.
Stay warm.
Spring is in the air (at least for a little while)! Today is a beautiful sunny day and I'm enjoying every bit of it as I hope you are too.
This afternoon is the Purls and Prayers shawl knitting group from 4:00-5:30. Feel free to come and join us.
For those of you doing the Wrap-me-up shawl knit-along with us, we were snowed in on Wednesday two weeks ago so were a week late in starting. Therefore, we have completed block one and are ready to take up block two. I have been informed, however, that several eager beavers have not been able to control themselves and have knitted on past that point. If you have not yet started yours, it's not too late!
Hopefully, we'll see you soon!
Are you ready for the ginormous snowstorm we're supposed to get? I know you'll think I'm more than a little strange, but I love big snowstorms!
I love being snowed in, baking something good, putting on a big pot of soup, and knitting! For some reason, I don't feel like I have to do the usual work around the house that I would normally do on a day off. I hope it really comes so I'll have an excuse to put on a good movie, snuggle under a warm blankie, and knit! Frankly, I'll believe it when I see it!
If it turns out the forecasters are wrong and we don't get snowed in, we'll be starting the Wrap Me Up knit-along tomorrow afternoon. Block 1. You can see pictures of the shawl on our website. Come join us. It will be fun!
Hello! After many delays, I am finally getting started on my new blog! I've never done this before so please hang in there with me.
I'm not the world's most techno-savvy person (to say the least)!
I'd like to invite you to come to the shop and see first-hand what all we have going on here. We have several classes starting up as well as several new knitting groups. Joining one of the knitting groups is a great way to meet new people and make new friends. Our groups tend to become good friends and are really interested in each other.
I will be posting pictures of what we finish in different classes or projects that people have finished (or thrown across the room)!
If you check out our website you can see several pics we just put up. In the Wednesday Wild Ones group we will be beginning a knit-along with RuthAnn on Wednesday. You can see some pictures of her and the Wrap-Me-Up-Shawl we will be doing. I think I will make mine out of sock yarn. It will turn out more like a scarf than a shawl but should still be quite pretty.
If you have suggestions for things you would like to see or hear about either on the website or in the blog, just let me know and we'll see what we can do.
